The Turkish Handball Federation (THF) announced a historic development for Turkish refereeing. Category-A referees Tekin Çetin and Yunus Emre Öksüz successfully completed all assessments in the EHF Candidate Referee Course held in Kosovo, earning the right to wear the EHF Referee Badge.

With this achievement, Turkey has once again produced a referee pair for the European stage after a 20-year gap. According to the federation's statement, the two officials met EHF standards through their performance throughout the course and were deemed worthy of the title.

In its statement, the federation extended heartfelt congratulations to the referees, expressing confidence that Tekin Çetin and Yunus Emre Öksüz will successfully represent the Turkish flag in European and world handball. A special message of thanks was also conveyed to the Central Referee and Observer Board for its contribution to this process.

The statement concluded with the words: "Congratulations Tekin Çetin & Yunus Emre Öksüz! Best wishes for Turkish handball!"
