The Turkish Handball Federation (THF) is gearing up for the new season not only with the teams on the court but also with the referee corps that will oversee its matches. The Pre-Season Category A and B Referee Seminar, which got underway in Kızılcahamam, covers an intensive three-day programme.

A total of 42 referee pairs are taking part in the seminar. This broad turnout reflects the depth of the federation's refereeing pool and the importance it is placing on the new season. The programme is being run under the coordination of the Central Referee Observation Board (MHGK).

The first phase of the training involves a comprehensive review of the season just concluded. Match situations, decisions made and referee performances from throughout last season are being examined in detail, with lessons drawn for the upcoming campaign.

The seminar combines theoretical and practical instruction. By covering the rules of the game, up-to-date analysis of match situations and the latest developments in refereeing practice, the programme aims to sharpen referees' match-management skills. The goal is to make decision-making processes on the court more effective.

This step by the federation lays the groundwork for the quality of matches that will be seen throughout the season in both men's and women's handball. Strengthening the referee corps in terms of knowledge and experience will help ensure that critical situations in the league are handled more accurately.
